July Do not outgrow belief in God
SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSONS MUST TRANSCEND CHILDHOOD
And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them , I pray you. Genesis 40: 8b

As a child in Genesis 37, Joseph learnt the lesson from his father Isaac that interpretations of dreams belong to God. Joseph did not see himself to have outgrown the knowledge and commandments of God instructed him during his tender years in his father’s house by his response in the opening scripture. How often are we quick to give up our values today when we find ourselves in a foreign land. Many people argue today that because of technological and scientific advancement in the postmodern era, there is no place for the God of Israel. They argue that belief in God is a ‘fairy tale’ for the gullible who seek a heaven that never exists. With all the gods, scientific knowledge and advancement in Egypt, Joseph maintained his identity and stuck to his first love (God of Israel). The biblical instructions we receive during our tender years in Sunday school classes are not meant to be aborted when we enter into maturity but they are to serve as a foundation for a much higher studies and increase in knowledge of Almighty God. Joseph was conscious of the fact that his life was meant to be a manifestation of the glory of God and we can all learn this lesson today by living a life full of the glory and praise of God. You are called to be a blessing.
Prayers:
I thank you Father for all the lessons you have blessed me with as a child growing up. I commit myself to build on the foundation that has been established as manifested in the life of Joseph. Grant me the grace to walk in your statutes and love in Jesus Name. Amen
