Ever have one of those days?

You know, one of those days when you have no energy or ambition. 

It happens; we have times with little motivation or incentive to work.

“He who has a slack hand becomes poor,
But the hand of the diligent makes rich (Proverbs 10:4 NKJ).”

A man leaning against his shovel handle might provide inspiration for a Sunday paper comic strips. Yet humorous, the shovel is of no use until a workman turns the soil.

I receive encouragement through the word.

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9 NKJ).” 

Mothers with young children grow weary.

Minimum wage workers grow discouraged.

Missionaries and ministers experience burnout.

Our work matters.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:23-24 NKJ).”
