TO DENNETTE, WITH LOVE


The Silent Invasion

A sudden whisper of cruel affliction,
An alien’s stealthy, vicious intrusion,
From the fatal planet of infirmity,
Shattering your peaceful century.

Yet you did not crumble, did not fall,
Nor let despair’s echo answer the call.
Instead, you turned to the shadowed wing,
Of the Almighty, your steadfast King.

No cries of “Why me?†to God above,
No bitter words to the One of love.
But faith unshaken, your burden placed,
In His soothing palms, His promised grace.

Through the storm of chemical rain,
You’ve walked with strength, despite the pain.
"Too blessed to be stressed," your anthem declared,
Confidence in trials, unbroken, shared.

Your courage, unseen, has turned my gaze,
To reassess my faith and my ways.
Your pain, transformed, brings others gain,
In place of shame, a double reign.

Disappointment, now divine appointment,
Touching lives with holy ointment.
May grace enfold you, a victorious flame,
Forever blessed in Jesus' name.
