A Word About Atheists

I don't know a lot of atheists.  Or if I do, they don't talk to me about their beliefs.  I only know what I read, which is undoubtedly not representative, but is all I have to go on.

First of all we find those outspoken atheists highly combative.  They seem to have a chip on their shoulder, and see the question of atheism vs. Christianity as warfare.  They see it only as a battle, not a genuine quest for truth.

Their belligerence also leads them to denigrate those who do not agree with them.  They attack the intelligence of anyone who doesn't accept their opinion simply because they are the ones who express it.  This flaw is grounded in pride, the basic sin that is the fundamental characteristic of all humanity, which reaches its zenith in these protagonist atheists.

It is quite ironic that their claim to superior intelligence is accompanied by such irrational and preposterous claims about the universe.  Sound scientific study has proved the Big Bang origin of the universe, which necessarily requires the existence of a supernatural being (God) outside of the universe.  Rather than acknowledge this, they lately have contrived an idea of "parallel universes", which, besides dodging the question of where those came from, represents a total fantasy with no evidence whatsoever.  It would be supremely laughable if it weren't so pathetic.

Finally, there is the ultimate and inescapable fact of death.  Atheists may tell themselves that there is no existence after death, ridicule the Christian's assurance of an eternal life with a loving God, or dismiss the significance of this event and its consequences.  But each one of us, including atheists, will one day know the truth.  The arrogant delusions of the outspoken atheists will collapse, and they will find themselves isolated and alone in an eternity of misery.  It is an eventuality that brings to a Christian, not anger towards atheists, but pity and compassion.
