Nimrod, The Mighty Hunter

Genesis 2:8-14

The LORD, GOD (GOD Almighty) PLANTED a Garden Eastward in Eden, and there He (GOD Almighty) PUT The Man (Adam) whom He (GOD Almighty) had FORMED.  And out of the ground, The LORD, GOD (GOD Almighty) MADE EVERY Tree GROW, that is Pleasant to The Sight and GOOD for food.  The Tree of Life was ALSO in The Midst of The Garden, and The Tree of The Knowledge of GOOD and Evil.  Now, a River went out of Eden, to WATER The Garden, and from there it PARTED and BECAME Four Riverheads.  The Name of The First (River) is Pishon; it is The One (Pishon), which SKIRTS The Whole Land of Havilah, where there is Gold.  And The Gold of That Land (Pishon) is GOOD.  Bdellium and The Onyx Stone are There (Pishon).  The Name of The Second River is Gihon; it is The One (Gihon), which goes AROUND The Whole Land of CUSH.  The Name of The Third River is Hiddekel; it is The One (Hiddekel), which goes toward The East of ASSYRIA.  The Fourth River is The Euphrates.

Genesis 10:1, 6-12

Now, this is The Genealogy of The Sons of NOAH: Shem, HAM, and Japheth.  And sons were born to Them (Shem, Ham, and Japheth) AFTER The Flood.  The Sons of HAM were CUSH, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.  The Sons of CUSH were Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabtechah; and The Sons of Raamah were Sheba and Dedan.  CUSH Begot NIMROD; He (Nimrod) began to be a Mighty One on The Earth.  He (Nimrod) was a Mighty Hunter before The LORD (GOD Almighty); therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod, The Mighty Hunter before The LORD (GOD Almighty).”  And The Beginning of His (Nimrod’s) Kingdom (Empire) was BABEL, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in The Land of Shinar.  From THAT (The Land of Shinar) Land, He (Nimrod) went to Assyria, and BUILT Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, and Resen, between Nineveh and Calah (that is The Principal City).

Genesis 11:1-9

Now, The Whole Earth had ONE Language and ONE Speech.  And it Came to Pass, as They (The People) JOURNEYED from The East, that They (The People) FOUND a Plain, in The Land of Shinar, and They (The People) DWELT There (In The Land of Shinar).  Then They (The People) said to One Another, “Come, let Us (The People) MAKE bricks and BAKE them (The Bricks), thoroughly.”  They (The People) had BRICK for STONE, and They (The People) had ASPHALT for MORTAR.  And They (The People) said, “Come, let Us (The People) BUILD Ourselves a City (Babel), and a Tower (The Tower of Babel), whose TOP is in The Heavens; let Us (The People) MAKE a Name for Ourselves, lest We (The People) be SCATTERED ABROAD, Over The Face of The Whole Earth.”

But The LORD (GOD Almighty) CAME DOWN, to SEE The City (Babel) and The Tower (The Tower of Babel), which The Sons of Men had BUILT.  And The LORD (GOD Almighty) said, “Indeed The People are ONE and They (The People) All have ONE Language, and THIS (Build The Tower of Babel) is what They (The People) begin to DO; now NOTHING, that They (The People) PROPOSE to DO, will be WITHHELD from Them (The People).  COME, let Us (GOD Almighty) GO DOWN and THERE (Babel), CONFUSE Their (The People’s) Language, that They (The People) May NOT Understand One Another’s Speech.”  So, The LORD (GOD Almighty) SCATTERED Them (The People) ABROAD, from THERE (Babel), Over The Face of All The Earth, and They (The People) CEASED Building The City (Babel).  Therefore, Its (The City’s) Name is Called, BABEL, because THERE (Babel), The LORD (GOD Almighty) CONFUSED The Language of All The Earth; and from THERE (Babel), The LORD (GOD Almighty) SCATTERED Them (The People) ABROAD, Over The Face of All The Earth.

The Genealogy of ADAM to NIMROD (1 Chronicles 1:1-4, 8-10)

Adam, (Adam’s Son) Seth, (Seth’s Son) Enosh, (Enosh’s Son) Cainan, (Cainan’s Son) Mahalalel, (Mahalalel’s Son) Jared, (Jared’s Son) Enoch, (Enoch’s Son) Methuselah, (Methuselah’s Son) Lamech, (Lamech’s Son) NOAH, (Noah’s Son) Shem, (Noah’s Son) HAM, and (Noah’s Son) Japheth.  The Sons of HAM were CUSH, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.  The Sons of CUSH were Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raama, and Sabtecha.  The Sons of Raama were Sheba and Dedan.  CUSH Begot NIMROD; He (Nimrod) began to be a Mighty One on The Earth.

Fellow Believers, I have included Genesis 2:8-14, because it’s the first time, Assyria and The Land of Cush, are mentioned in The Holy Bible.  Since The Holy Bible TELLS Us (Believers), Nimrod moved on to The Land of Assyria, where He (Nimrod) BUILT Nineveh, it seemed like a good idea to include These Scriptures.

So, what do These Scriptures tell Us (Believers) about Nimrod?  Well, first of all, Nimrod was a “Mighty Hunter”, and this was IN GOD Almighty’s Eyes, GOD Almighty’s Opinion of Nimrod.  Nimrod was the first to start building His (Nimrod’s) Own Kingdom of Cities, His (Nimrod’s) Own Empire, AFTER The Great Flood.  Unfortunately, The Holy Bible does NOT Reveal for Us (Believers), the names of ANY of Nimrod’s Children, NOR what became of Nimrod.  The Holy Bible does TELL Us (Believers) that BABEL was part of Nimrod’s Kingdom (Empire), therefore Nimrod was probably a big influence on The Building of The Tower of Babel, in The Land of Shinar.  The Holy Bible also Reveals, Nimrod moved on to Assyria, where He (Nimrod) BUILT Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah, and Resen (between Nineveh and Calah).  After GOD Almighty SCATTERED The People ABROAD, Over The Face of All The Earth, The Holy Bible tells Us (Believers) nothing more, about Nimrod.
