JUST STAND
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man (Proverbs 24:33) …. A little lies, a little act of fornication, a little deviation from the standard of God and poverty in the things of God, poverty in the way of God, and poverty in holiness envelops us. Many times we have the notion that every hard time we get, the devil is really hitting us. But there are times when our very faith is tested, may be Abraham felted moved to sacrifice his only son Isaac, but I know God asked him to do so I call it the faith test time. And as a Christian today what is God asking you to sacrifice? Your desire, ambition, your time, your intellect, your money, your talent or better still your life (and I can hear somebody saying all this, what will I be left with) consider reading Mathew 19:28. Who was Abraham a man or a god?
Check this! God told Abraham” live your father’s house unto a place I will show you” (Genesis 12:1) without a map, without the name of the place but he just moved blindly, ignorant of his destination. With our eyes open we can move with God blindly, not knowing where we are going, not knowing if we are gonna hit the wall, but living by faith not by sight, not even by our instincts.
(Daniel 1:8) when we have the opportunity, when we can do it, when we can get the things we desire from kings, from friends, from lecturers, from our bosses, we can still say the words of Daniel “ I will not defile myself with the kings meat, nor with the wine which he drank. What a decision. When we are qualified for the job, and it will cut us off from God, when we are right for the position and it will buy us off from God do we say NO, when we are faced with the Abrahamic test of faith, the Joseph’s trial of righteousness, the Daniel stand for truth, the Shedrach, Mishael and Abednego unbending stand for their decision not to bow and the Job test of Steadfastness, when everything we held dear is taken away from us do we stand or we wait for the cock crow ( trials, temptations, sickness, failure) and we reject Christ (matthew26:75).
We can just stand, stand for holiness, and stand for righteousness, stand and be counted among those that will reign with him. You can say this with Fred Hammond “I decided to take a stand, not knowing I will lose my best friend but I would rather: I would rather live right. When friends are gone stand, when I am all alone and believe he shall receive his own. I JUST STAND (Hebrews 11: 1-40).
Hebrews 10:23,35 (KJV) “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised” 35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.
