It's Not Free, It Cost You Something

St. John 8:32
And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free

Jesus was teaching in the temple after he had come down from the Mount of Olives. As he taught, the Scribes and Pharisees brought him a woman taken in adultery, in the very act. Now according to the law, as given by Moses, she should be stoned, but they wouldn't let it die. They had to be heard, so he answered, not saying what they wanted to hear, but he that is without sin among you cast the first stone at her.

Everything you hear, you need to ignore some of it. Every conversation is not even worthy of our listening ears. Every conversation is not free; it cost you something. Example: your co-workers were going out to eat and the supervisors were paying. The meal was free, but God let enough pain come into your stomach that you don't go. Everything free cost you something in the long run. Later on you find out that not only did they eat, but were drinking too. This was their main goal to drink. The supervisor is married, had her boyfriend meet them at the place, then they were loud, talked about everyone in the office other than themselves, including you, and the other girl that was saved was so uncomfortable she said she felt like she could have thrown up. Everything that's free is not free. It could cost you a lot, your soul, your witness or your testimony. The Bible says to shun the very appearance of evil. If someone is drinking at a table, who knows whom the drink is for, it could be yours in the eyes of the other people in the place and you are innocent and just sitting there. That very same person may later see you in the pulpit somewhere later and remember what he or she saw that day. You've just lost them because they may be in a carnal state of mind and unsaved. You don't know who see you, even in innocent situations. Two things you must maintain are your integrity and your witness.

Integrity is your rigid adherence to a code of behavior; probity. It's your state of being unimpaired, your soundness, completeness, unity, wholeness and your purity.

Your witness is what you have seen or heard. It furnishes evidence or a sign of one called to testify. It is one called upon to be present at a transaction, one who provide truth to the authenticity of something important, have personal knowledge of something, bear witness to.

We need to maintain God's code of behavior, his morals, his ethics, and his commandments. We need to be sound in what we do and say. Our witness of Jesus Christ is that, what we have heard and seen of him. What we testify to. The test, the trials you've been through, the things God has delivered you from, this is your witness of him. You know what is authentic in your life. You have to maintain that. Don't let the Devil mess you up, running to something that's free. Salvation is the only thing free in life that doesn't cost you anything but a yes Lord. Jesus has already paid the price.

We have to know a blessing, everything we call a blessing is not a blessing. The blessings of God maketh rich and added no sorrow. We the people of God love to eat and we get caught up in so much because we love to eat. We get caught up in the wrong conversations. Some of our curses come from what we hear and entertain. Bad communication corrupt good manners. Some people talk too much. They ingest stuff they shouldn't entertain. Many people have left our churches because of idle talk about the church, the members, the leaders, and the Pastor and we just need to shut up. Listen to the voice of God. Some of us can't even identify or hear the voice of God anymore, we've choked the spirit our of us.
