The Gift of Righteousness

Rom 5:17
For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

Righteousness exalts a nation and exalts our lives and all that concerns us spiritually and physically. By it we shall reign in our walk of life by Jesus Christ the author of the gift of righteousness.

Righteousness is described as...
- The quality or state of being righteous; holiness; purity; uprightness; rectitude.
- A righteous act, or righteous quality.
- The act or conduct of one who is righteous.
- The state of being right with God; justification; the work of Christ, which is the ground of justification.

In simple terms it is the rightness of the human spirit in relation to God Almighty. The righteousness of Christ imputed to us, and it is received by faith alone.

Righteousness ...dikaiosune ..gk, meaning ...equity, .... innocent, ...holy, ...just, is of God. God has declared you innocent, acquitted and discharge not found guilty of any charge.

For ...they which receive...the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. ...by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Rom 5:17-19

So Jesus makes us righteous by the shedding of his blood. Have you received the Gift of Righteousness?

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Cor 5:21

The Gift is described as...
- Something given to another voluntarily, without charge.
- A talent or natural ability.
- Something gained incidentally, without effort.

Therefore the gift ...dorea..gk, which means ...a gratuity, ...gift, of righteousness must be received to be imputed or credited to your account. It is a gratuity that is a reward, service, or payment provided freely, without obligation.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2Cor 5:17

By this gift of righteousness, we become the body of Christ, the express image of the unseen Christ seated on the throne. We obtain the rightness in our spirit to live and to do right by the power of Holy Spirit.

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: Php 3:9

This is the gift which gives us the ability to approach God without guilt, and condemnation. To walk uprightly in our walk of life because with the heart, spirit, we have believed and therefore made right with God.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Rom 10:10

The gift of righteousness is in the state or status of your spirit. It is the operating system of your spirit. If therefore your heart condemn you, then your state is corrupted with sin or is defiled and this will not help you to walk uprightly.

The problem of greed, stealing, killing, destruction and corruption in the world and country today is because of the lack of the reception and the operation of the gift of righteousness in our lives.

Beloved let us be good epistles of the gift of righteousness we have received and to be witnesses of the power resident in us to our sphere of contact.
