Automatic Adjustment

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could automatically adjust to life’s transitions? Unlike Transition Lenses that automatically adjust their level of tint to changing light conditions, change is not always that easy, comfortable or welcomed in our own lives. Often unsure of what lies ahead, we become afraid and sometimes resist what is really the inevitable.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) states: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you; plans to give you hope and a future.” Notice that the text says plan(s) – meaning more than one. God is not static. He is ever changing, and so are you. Whether entering college, a new job, home, relationship, or new season in life, the reality of change means that our daily routines, responsibilities and positions in life will be different and unfamiliar.

If you find yourself knocking at the door of transition, crossing over the threshold into a new transition, or in the midst of adjusting to a recent transition, trust that where your are right now is in God’s plan. No matter what you may be facing today, go confidently and take God’s word with you: “…Do not be afraid for I am with you!” (Genesis 26:24). When you trust God, He will automatically adjust you and make the transitions in your life a lot smoother.
