Purify Yourself

1 Jn 3:2-3
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
...........................................................................................................................

Beloved praise the name of Jesus!!!

Being born again we have the privilege to called sons and daughters of God. Now the seed and gift of sonship operates in us and as Jesus is in heaven so are we in this world.

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Rom 5:5

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Col 1:5

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Tit 3:7

Do you have this hope in you?

If your answer is yes, then, you cannot and must not live anyhow. Apostle John says such an one purifies himself because Jesus who died and rose again for our justification is Pure.

To purify is described as ...
- To cleanse (something), or rid (it) of impurities
- To free (someone) from guilt or sin

An impure or impurity is ...
- The condition of being impure;
- Because of contamination, pollution, adulteration or insufficient purification.
- A component or additive that renders something else impure.
- A state of immorality or sin; especially the weakness of the flesh: inchastity.

It is also to be ...
- Defiled by sin or guilt; unholy; unhallowed
- Unchaste; lewd; unclean or obscene
- imperfect, tainted
- to defile; to pollute

Therefore beloved a pure heart is clean, clear, and pure. Purity of heart is free of flaws, imperfections and of immoral behavior and a clean heart, a clear heart.

Out of the heart are the issues of life. Therefore guard your heart with all diligence

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Cor 7:1

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Mt 5:8

The urge in our heart to do anything and our responses determines who is ruling or controlling you and the determinant, who will make you pure or impure. The Holy spirit or an evil spirit.

Therefore beloved we have to see to it to purify ...hagnizo..gk, which means ...to make clean, ...to sanctify (ceremonially or morally), ...to purify (self), yourself from every iota of impurity.

2 things to do to help us remain in our purified state continually. In the first place is to purify or cleanse or rid our lives of all impurities by the application of the blood of Christ shed for the remission of our sins and the washing with the water of the Word of God.

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Eph 1:7

By the blood we deliver or redeem ourselves from the clutches of satanic bondages and addictions which defile our heart, spirit. Therefore cleanse your flesh and spirit of all filthiness to remain clean, clear and pure.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. John 15:4

The more you hear the Words of Jesus, you are cleansed so give yourself to the Word of God.

Secondly is to free someone from guilt or sin. In other words to forgive and release your neighbor from the wrongs committed because you too need to be forgiven.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. Mt 6:12

How will you obtain your forgiveness when you have not let go of your debtors ..those who have hurt you so painfully.

Yes it hurts but Jesus says let it alone and receive yours ...liberty, pardon and freedom.

When you fail to forgive those who have wronged you, that hatred and anger brewing in your heart will defile you because you have allowed the evil spirit of bitterness to take residence in your heart. You too will soon find yourself in the torture chamber of unforgiveness and all the emotional destructions of bitterness and anger.

Jesus our Lord came ...
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Eph 5:26

For us to be continuously clean before God, that is purify yourself, the Blood and the application of the Word must be in use.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 2 Pet 3:14

Are you washed?

Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. Jn 13:10

Jesus emphasies that our feet needs to be washed to prepare us in a continuous state of sanctification or purity of heart in order for us...

To walk in the paths of righteousness in all our endeavors knowing you are washed.
To walk in holiness.
To walk in the light as he is in the light.
To walk in the Word of God

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Mt 5:48

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb 10:22

Beloved purify yourself as Jesus is pure.

Stay blessed!!!
