When I was asked what I wanna be when I grow up at the age of three,
I said I want to be free.

I was innocent, pure, sweet and free.

Who I became is not who I wanted to be.
I did everything I could to be free.

Addiction became me.
I was far from free.

Just a little weed became the motivation to get higher.
I took some pills, I drank some liquor, my friends said it would be okay. LIAR

I went so far in such a little amount of life.
Because you see, I'm only twenty three.

The pills became my life.

I stole, I lied, I hurt, I cried.

Meth is the worst, I call it the devils ploy.
Because it too will kill, steal, and destroy.

I had a baby, maybe she will save me. No sir.
Because a newborn baby cannot be a grown adults anchor.

When I was on my last run, I looked in the mirror and was disgusted with who I had become.

Looking down at my arms covered in marks and bruises.
I realized that addiction ALWAYS loses.

I was a captive and a slave to those drugs.
I felt dirty, like I was covered in bugs.

All I needed was someone who could love the person I became.
Someone who could look past my brokenness and shame.
That's when Jesus came.

He saved me from that dark place.
He reached out and kissed my face.

He told me I was worth it, he told me I was beautiful.

He put me under his wings and by the blood he shed, he said I was clean.
He said free is exactly who I was meant to be.

He said to call him father and he said I am his daughter.

Finally I found me.
Because there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
