Please listen to this nice video, based on (John 14:1-6), before reading the script. Jesus is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

The fourteenth chapter of John's gospel is a very interesting chapter. Especially the first six verses (John 14:1-6). In these few passages of scripture, we see Christ giving His disciples  specific encouragement, in view of His soon departure.

No doubt  those were very dark hours that night before the Lord was betrayed, abused, tortured, and ultimately crucified. The world around the eleven disciples was about to collapse, and total chaos would ensue. They just couldn't understand the frightful chain of events that was about to take place.  The ramifications of all that Jesus had told them must have staggered their minds. They were undoubtedly bewildered, perplexed, confused, and filled with anxiety. You see, they had all given up their jobs to follow the Master. And would have died for Him.

Our, lives can be very troublesome at times, even in today's world. However,  most people refuse to look to Jesus to give them peace. Nonetheless, when we listen to Jesus, we find the answer to our troubles. He encourages us to replace the anxieties and confusion in our hearts with a simple but absolute belief in him, by putting our faith in His free grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).

His promises give meaning and purpose to our lives, greater and higher than anyone or anything else can offer. Yes, His promises are absolutely real and true. Thus, the below synopsys, made up of four main topics.

A PERSON(John 14:1)- Here we see Christ telling us that if and when we , who have put our faith in God are  troubled, we should also believe in Him (Jesus), a real person  (John 1:4).

You see, thousands of years ago, when Christ gave us this encouragement, He could see in the future. In that,  we all at some point in our lives,  would be troubled by life's disappointments.

A PROMISE (John 14:2)- Here Christ gives us  a wonderful promises. Like the disciples, we may have many  presuppositions and misconceptions that needed to be corrected.  Heaven is real, and He assures us that our expectation of eternity in His kingdom is not a vain hope.

A PLACE(John 14:3)- Here we see that Christ promises to prepare a physical place for us.  A place the likes of which we have known or seen  (1 Cor 2:9).

He not only prepared this place, we call Heaven, but He assured us that He would come again and take us there (1 Cor 15:51-54) ( 2 Thess 4 :13-18).

A PLAN(John 14:6)- Here Christ gives us the one and only plan to salvation and eternal life. Contrary to popular belief, there is only one way to God, that is through His only begotten Son (John 3:16-18).

CONCLUSION

So, if Heaven is our final destination, how can we be sure of it ? How can we be sure we know the way without some kind of map or guide ? Simply put, walk in the way our Lord has commanded (Deuteronomy 5:32-33)  (Psalm 27:11).

As we see in this scripture, only Jesus can say, "I am the truth, the way and the life" (John 14:6). Just let Jesus  guide your life every day. Jesus embodies the truth in His person . He also is the life. (Psalm 16:11), to show us the way.

Just don't forget the four P's, Person, Promise, Place and, Plan. Let these four P's, as outlined in (John 14:1-6)  rule and reign in your life forever.

Author's Post Script

Martin Luther called this passage "the best and most comforting sermon that the Lord Christ delivered on earth, a treasure and a jewel not to be purchased with the world's goods." These verses become the foundation for comfort, not only for these disciples but also for us. If you ever get to the point in your life where you think you've run out of escapes and there aren't any more places where you can rest, you'll find a tremendously soft, downy pillow in (John 14:1-6).

Heaven will be an indescribable beautiful and glorious place. Imagine what it must be like--Jesus Christ, who created the universe in a week, has been laboring for two millennia preparing heaven to be the habitation of His people (Revelation 21:18-22) describes it:
