Do caterpillars know when they make their cocoon
That they’ll emerge a butterfly?
Did someone tell them when they were born,
That someday, they’d grace the sky?

How wonderful it must have been
To know right from the start,
That someday they’d be beautiful,
Spread their wings, from ground they’d part.

I wonder how many people know,
How many truly listen,
As God whispers in their ears
And tells them of their mission?

Just think of what a special place
This world could come to be,
If we were born knowing our purpose,
And fulfilled our destiny!

I can feel God’s disappointment,
I can tell He’s feeling sad.
He gave to us our free will
Faith in us is all He has.

The only thing He asks from us,
Is that we show our faith in Him.
That we listen when He whispers,
If He knocks, we let Him in.

A tragedy, His dream for us
Is a dream He’s been denied;
As we stomp through all the puddles
Full with tears, that God has cried.
