LIFE IS EASY, UP ON THE MOUNTAIN

Life is easy,  When  up on the mountain

Life can be tough, In the valley below

Just trust the Father, In good and in bad

His free grace, He will always bestow

Life is easy, When up on the mountain

Life can be tough, In the valley below

On bended knee, Seek His gracious favor

In His precious arms, He will never let go

Life is easy, When up on the mountain

Life can be tough, In the valley below

Time after time,  Your spirit may falter

His loving kindness, He will always show

Life is easy, When up on the mountain

Life can be tough, In the valley below

Come  to the Father, Seeking  forgiveness

In His tender mercy, Your spirit will glow

Life is easy, When up on the mountain

Life can be tough, In the valley below

Just come to Him, And make your plea

By faith You're sins,  He'll forever forgo

Years ago, when CB radio was popular, I would love to vacation in the mountains, as I could talk to fellow CB'ers for miles away. Yes, on the mountain top, life was surely easy. You felt like you were on top of the world. You were king of "the hill", as you looked down at your kingdom.

However, when I would reach the bottom valley, it just felt like I was stuffed by all those surrounding mountains. I could reach no one by CB radio. It just gave me that closed end, dead end feeling.

Can we not draw a parallel, from this mountain experience, to our Christian life style ? When up on the mountain top, of our "glory" cloud nine, all seems to go well and nothing goes wrong.

However, when we get down into that "valley of despair", nothing seems to go right. Nonetheless, our sovereign Father God, has given us a promise, and a solution to life's many valleys (1 Cor 10:13).

So, whatever our circumstances, we should always be ready and willing to give thanks (1 Thess 5:18). For there are no boundaries, no “exception clauses” in regard to when we are to give thanks. We are to give thanks in everything.

“Give thanks unto the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people” (I Chronicles 16:8).

“O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever” (I Chronicles 16:34).

“Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness” (Psalm 30:4).
