Summary: It is very important to understand that when the apostle Paul spoke of being "of flesh, having been sold into bondage to sin" in Rom. 7:14, he was speaking of mankind in Adam (Rom. 5:12-21), not of those who have been born again in Christ. In 1 Cor. 2:14-3:4 Paul sharply insulted large numbers of the Corinthian Christians for their fleshiness: He said they were infants in Christ, fleshly, walking like mere men. And he powerfully warned ministers (and this has a strong application for all Christians) that they must not build with things of the flesh (wood, hay, and straw).

There is no difference in meaning between "of flesh" here in 7:14 and being "in the flesh ["sarks"]" in Rom. 7:5.]], sold [better, "having been sold
