The Captive

While in our little circle, as we prayed one fateful day
We felt that we should venture out; change a life, some way.

"Let's find a sheep that's far away, and needs our constant prayer.
Perhaps an angel God will send to strengthen him, right there.

And if we dare to trust the One, who walked upon the sea,
not only will he strengthen, but will set the captive free."

But there were some who doubted; by faith they could not grasp,
the work which seemed impossible, to God was one
small task.

For those who pledged, "I'll do my part, by faith, I'll share the load,"
there's rejoicing in our hearts today, more valuable than gold.

The "Captive" walks in freedom now; in bondage is no more.
Our faith will be rewarded, when we embrace on heaven's shore.

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24 NIV)

*A reminder to pray for Christians in countries that are hostile to the Christian faith.

LOL... Barb I really AM trying to get my reading done and not stop to comment on everything I read. But Sis, this was SO timely. Just yesterday, I was sure I heard the Lord say to me "Make a vow to Me." So, as I praying last night, I said, "I don't like making vows, especially not to You, Father, because I'm afraid I won't be able to keep my vows after I've made them. But, because You said 'Make a vow to Me' ......." For those who pledged, "I'll do my part, by faith, I'll share the load,"
there's rejoicing in our hearts today, more valuable than gold.
Mind if I just rejoice a little while? LOL I believe I receive exactly that which I asked for when I vowed to do whatever the Lord directs me to do, be it clean a toilet, give someone a hug, work in the church gardens, give my last dollar to someone that needs it, or preach the gospel to thousands... if He would please, please allow me to just bring Him a harvest that will make Him exceedingly happy. :::smile:::

AMEN Barbara! Thank you for reminding us. Yes, if many of us start praying I think that we will see dramatic results, although He can help with many or with few. So we all should be encouraged to pray. Blessings, Sharon
