---

I think of life as a highway
On which we travel from birth to death
Composed of a mix, of joy and woe
From that first cry, to the last breath

Hills and valleys - curves and detours
Long desert roads, - rain and snow
Many unknown curves, along the way
What there awaits, we never know

Obstacles and delays, I've known some
But each has helped me appreciate
The beauty of the countryside
And all the wonders, God did create

Lest I should dwell upon the bleak
Let me hasten to proclaim
Peace and contentment, I have found
These by God's grace, - I can claim

In retrospect, life has been kind
A journey of fulfillment, I have known
Storms that occurred, along the way
Through each of them, I have grown

The greatest gem, I have attained
In the decades, He has given me
Is learning of, His undying love
And that through Him, I can be free

As year's advance, I know it's true
That around the next curve, or the hill
An uncharted course, awaits for me
It will all be according, to His will

I have consolation, in the fact
Should that curve, be my last
Sustaining grace, He will provide
It's never failed me, in the past
