To sing a new song to the LORD does not necessarily mean a song that has never been sung before. It may mean simply a song that has not been sung by you, or perhaps a song that has not been sung by you in a long time. Either way it is a song that brings a freshness to your singing and to your praise. That freshness and newness is a joy to our Lord and in some way it is always available to us I believe as we reach for it in ministering to Him in music and song. “Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!” (Psalm 96)
