Love your children, and teach them the way of the Lord while you can. Sometimes the distractions of the world keep us from being the understanding and compassionate parents we should be. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).

If our confused teenagers don’t believe that we love them, they will turn to the enemy. The enemy will play on their vulnerabilities until it empties every bit of hope that they have. There will be nothing left but empty shells. At that point, all we can do is pray from afar because their minds are too dark. Their hearts are dry. Their eyes cannot see the truth. We become the enemy, and the enemy becomes their friend, or so they think.

These youngsters need to know that we love them and that God loves them even when they sin. At the same time, we still need to stand against disrespect. How do we do that without losing them to the enemy? By teaching them right and wrong early rather than late. By teaching them the concept of God’s unconditional love early rather than late. By introducing them to the correct Lord before someone else introduces them to the wrong one.

Stay alert at all times. I was blind for many years, and I lost some of my beloved to the enemy because of it. Stay alert at all times.
