“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” ---Ephesians 3:20

Have you ever asked God for something and then received something far bigger and better than you ever even imagined?

Well, that is exactly what happened to me yesterday. Recently, I did some work for which I had not been paid due to the sickness and death of my employer. Instead of worrying about the money, I just left it to God, having faith that somehow, some way, He would provide for my needs. Well, a few weeks have passed now and I found myself in need of money to pay bills, so I asked God to please provide. Well, yesterday, I received a check in the mail from my employer’s daughter, and the check was far more than what I expected or even imagined. The daughter noted that the check was for my wages in addition to a “gift.”

God blessed me exactly like the above scripture describes. How good is God! I wanted to write about this for others to read, not to brag, but rather to praise God, to glorify Him! What’s more, I wanted to write this in the hopes that it might encourage someone else to seek God.

Please don’t ever be afraid or reluctant to ask God for physical things. It is not selfish for you to ask God for the things you need. Please know that God is your heavenly Father, and He longs for you to come to Him and ask Him for help. He wants you to give Him the opportunity to demonstrate this verse in your life. He wants to amaze you and wow you with His amazing love. If you don’t ask Him for help, you rob Him of that opportunity. What’s more, Jesus commands us to “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7)

We should never hesitate to ask God for help because we feel He is “too busy” helping others with more important matters. My friend, when we think God is too busy for us, we are putting limitations on Him. We are saying that God is not able to help me because He is too busy with someone else. That is not true. God is able! The scripture above says just that! He is able! And not only is He able, but He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we ask of Him. God is able to sit quietly with you for hours and listen to you cry about your troubles, while at the same time He is across the country in the middle of a catastrophic event, providing rescue help and comfort to those calling out to Him in sheer panic. God is omnipotent. He is everywhere. He is never too busy for any one of His children. If you need Him for any reason, call out to Him and give Him the opportunity to demonstrate this scripture in your life. Give God the chance to wow you with His love and His presence in your life.

And when God blesses you just like this scripture says, glorify Him! Tell others how real and how good God is!

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”--Psalm 50:15
