When I relate a situational story on the gospel of salvation, the passages revealed two offenders who were hanged left and the other right near the cross of Jesus Christ at Golgotha, I find the blessings flow in conveying the thief story with Our Lord Jesus Christ on his saving grace at the cross. Luke 23: 39,40..And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? V.41,42..And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. KJV

The dying thief realized his sins at the cross in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ. The saving grace was justified to the thief right away in Luke 23: 42..And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise. Sins were blotted out at the cross. The word “remember” was expressed humbly by the thief in sorrow of his sins at the point of his death. And he had no more time to demonstrate his good works to earn the favour of God. Our Lord did not require the thief to go back home to perform his good works or get membership to any group or religion. This is a basic example in obtaining the unmerited favour of God. The thief deserved to receive punishment in hell but Our Lord Jesus Christ at the cross heard his plea. The thief did not say, “I accept you or I now receive you as my Lord and Saviour. Please come into my heart and so on”. The thief believed in his heart positively at peace by faith on Our Lord Jesus Christ, he got saved and forgiven.

When the crucified Christ was lifted up at the cross, all sins of mankind, our sins were also absorbed into the body of Jesus. The death of Christ at the cross abolished death in John 19:30.. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED; and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The finished works of Christ at the cross reign in our spirits. We first believed on him by faith, we will also live abundantly on God’s righteousness. We now claim his grace in us all areas of prosperity and peace.Isaiah 53:5… But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.

To illustrate further, the burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin offered by the law are replaced by one offering of the body of Christ in Hebrews 10: 10.. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. V.14.. For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. One important thing on the saving grace of God by the blood of Christ, we were forgiven on our present, past and future sins in one time sacrifice. This was proclaimed in Hebrews 10:17… And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

I stood firmly on such faith of the finished works at Calvary in our daily Christian living. 1John 1:7.. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Blessings overflow in a door of utterance on teaching the word of God to the lost be instant in season or out of season. “Thank you Lord Jesus for the gift of righteousness, I now live. Thanking you for shedding your precious blood at the cross 2000 years ago and my sins were washed away.” A renewed prayer from his finished works at Calvary for we were saved by his great unconditional love in John 3:16..that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.1 Timothy 1:14.. And the grace of Our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. Collosians 4:2,3,4,5..Continue in prayer, and watch the same with thanksgiving. Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds. That I may make manifest, as I ought to speak. Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.

I must announce the gospel of the good news of Christ to discharge the devil’s devises of defiling mind and heart from the edges of hypocrisy and self-efforts. Philippians 3:9,10… And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness of God which is of God by faith. That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.
