WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO US HUMANS

We see in the scriptures that God made mankind in His image and in His likeness (Genesis 1:27). So, what has happened to us along the way ? Unlike our Heavenly Father, mankind can't be pleased, no matter what.

In the winter it's too cold, and in the summer it's too hot. When we drive our automobiles, often times the traffic is too heavy, hindering us from arriving at our destination on time. Or, the traffic is too light, causing us to have more time on our hands than is necessary.

Its Monday again, how boring. Or, Monday is always too exciting for my weak nerves.

When we sit down to eat, the food is too hot, or too cold. I can't stand water with my meal and we just had to be out of tea.

If only our neighbors dogs would only stop barking. Or, I wish the dogs were trained to bark at strangers, it would surely make us feel more safe.

This drive-up window is too slow. Just look at the line. Or, no one uses this drive-up window anymore and all the food is always cold.

Why does this restaurant put all the desserts, at the beginning of the line, they know I'm on a diet. Or, why don't they make the desserts more convenient for us.

Why does my child cry all the time. This crying is getting on my nerves. Or, I'm worried, my child hardly shows emotion.

This store's food prices are out of line, with their pricing. Or, I can't find the food items I need, because they are reducing them, due to the competition.

In church, the pastor preached to long for our attention span. Or, his sermon was to short with no scripture substance. The hymn singing dragged on an on. Or, the Praise and Worship singing had no Bible meaning. This is not a friendly church, as no one shook my hand. Or, the people are just fake, when the smile and greet me.

I could go on-an-on here, but you get the picture. Us humans are never satisfied. Instead of complaining that the rose bush is full of thorns, be happy the thorn bush has roses.

Yes, we all tend to complain. Even if we argue that we are the happiest person in the world, we still complain sometimes. We often complain without even realizing it, as it just comes natural (Ephesians 6:12), but rarely is it ever helpful. I once had a friend who constantly griped about his health, family, etc. And when I would leave him, I was literally drained physically. And to top it off, he was a leader in our church. Oh you of little faith (Matthew 8:26) .

I realize that it is easier to complain instead of fixing a problem, like quitting a job or having a talk with someone. However, I find that when we center our mind on things of "the kingdom", we have a more positive attitude (Philippians 2:5-11).

Once, as I was watching a well know TV police show, where a junior officer was being interview by his senior officer, when he stated " , permission to open mouth and remove foot" More truth than fiction here.

So just a few tips:
Try changing the way you think. Be proactive rather than reactive.
Try giving yourself room to vent problems to your friends and fellow church members.
Try being less judgmental. Boy, that's a tough one. ,
Try being grateful for a change, and for all the good you have and have done.
Try taking good care of yourself, as no one else will.
Try speaking up or quieting down when necessary.
Try accepting responsibility. If something is bothering you, fix it if you can, or forget it.
Try doing what makes you happy, as others really don't care.

We would all be better off, if we had the same attitude as did the apostle Paul ( Philippians 1:21). For Paul suffered many times, for the cause of Christ (2 Cor 11:23-28).

Yes, we were all made in the image and likeness of our creator, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit(Genesis 1:26). Not only did God creation mankind, but He gave the first blessing of scripture to mankind (Genesis 1:28).

However, this first blessing did not last long. The fall of mankind (Genesis 3:1-7) started it all. Started the reality of life (Geneses 3:22) . All of a sudden, our first parents had to work for a living (Genesis 3:23), thus the reality of life set in, along with dissatisfaction in life .And we have been following ever since. Just read the Bible, it's writings are full of complaints.

Remember, You can't please everyone. When you're too focused on living up to other people's standards, you aren't spending enough time raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. But for the most part, it's all in your head. People care less about your actions than you think. Why? They have their own problems!
