JERUSALEM, GOD'S HOMESTEAD

As a Christian, we should take a firm stand for Jerusalem and the Jewish peoples. In doing so, we are blessing what God wants blessed. The Bible makes the importance of Jerusalem to God and His Chosen People very clear.(Psalm 137:5) (Isaiah 49:15-16) ( 2 Chronicles 7:16).

And now, more than ever before, the Jewish state is facing an ever increased spiritual attack. The enemy , Satan himself is provoking the world, at an alarming pace (Ephesians 6:12), by moving to try to derail what God's people have build up over the ages.

Satan knows the impact of the message of Christian love that has been displayed and how this message is reaching out to the Jewish people who have never heard it before. Satan knows that what has happened so far is just the beginning,. that there are even more amazing and wonderful things in store for the Jewish state in the days ahead. And Satan is doing everything he can to stop this from happening. You see time is short, as we are vastly approaching the end of time, as we know it (1 Cor 15:50-53) (1 Thess 4:13-18) (Rev 4:1).

And one need only read the latest newspaper headlines, or watch the nightly TV news, to see this old world seems to be on a collision course to nowhere, while searching for a lasting peach. For centuries, various religions such as the Jews, Christians and Muslims, have made their way to Jerusalem, in search of God. So, how important is this eternal city in the middle of the world ?

There are only two recorded occasions, when Jesus Christ wept, Once when his beloved friend, Lazarus, died in (John 11:35), and once when he looked on Jerusalem and wept over that city (Luke 19:41).

The Bible has nearly 800 references to Jerusalem- called “the City of our God” (Ps. 48:1,8) Jerusalem is God’s city, the city of Zion, he has invested his name there (Daniel 9:19).

Jerusalem is called the city of the great King (Matt.5:35). Yahweh is called “the God of Israel,” He is NOT called the God of any other nation in this manner, The God of Jerusalem is key to the Jewish people, to Jesus and to the end of the age. (Ps 87:5) (Ps 149:2) (Song 3:11) (Isa. 33:14) (Isa. 33:20) (Jer. 9:19) (Isa. 59:20) (Isa. 60:14)

The evidence of the creator uniquely affiliated with Israel is Abraham (who was Chaldean) was brought out of his country (Ur). The covenant God made with Abraham was about the land and the people (Genesis 12:1-3).

Notice that is God that will do these things, it is an unconditional covenant, it does not depend on man but God. He will give them the land and make a great nation from Abraham. And indeed all the families of earth have been blessed, as the Messiah- Jesus, came through Abrahams lineage, born in the land God gave to Israel (Gal. 3:14-16).

We are indeed now living in peerless times, when one misguided spoken phrase could possible trigger an all out confrontation among nations. Especially, those nations located in the middle east. Human nature dictates that we shun away from those who consistently bring harsh judgment upon others. We want to make sure that we ourselves will not be the next victim, thus we feel impelled to resort to the self-defense mode, when exposed to such actions, and not get involved. So, is it right to judge others? Or should we just leave the judgment to the all-knowing heart of God.

It's now time to put on our thinking cap and reflect. How does modern America stand in defense of Jerusalem and modern day Israel? How do you feel, about this ancient country, half way around the world? Regardless of your stand on the Middle East, America is treading on thin ice if America considers any philosophy outside of Gods eternal protection of Israel. ( Psalm 122:6) (Numbers 24:9) (Zachariah 2:8) (Malachi 3:6) (Joel 3: 1-)(Psalm 83:1-18 ). As Christians, it's only right to stand up firm for God's principles. Especially, when it comes to God's chosen people. (John 7:24 ) ( Luke 6:31 ) (2 Cor 5:10) (Proverbs 31:9)

God 's promise to Israel, which was given way back in the book of Genesis when God promised to bless Abram, is just as true today as it was thousands of years ago ( Genesis 12:3). If we stand with God's people, we are promised prosperity. Conversely, we are doomed if we don't sand with them. You see, it is very important to understand God's call for Americans, as adopted Sons and Daughters of Abram and the nation of Israel. ( Ephesians 1: 5-11 ) ( Romans 5:18-23 ) ( Romans 9:4 ) ( Galatians 4:5 )

Throughout history, God's divine hand has continued to be on Israel. However, God also makes it perfectly clear, that He will punish both nations and its people, according to their evil deeds. ( Obadiah 1:15 ). Sad to say, there are many Christian circles, including well structured churches, that continually stand against Israel.

Yes, as Christians, we should continue to back God's chosen ones. We Christians should continue to stand with Israel, as they battle the remaining peoples of the earth. Yes, battle their evil propaganda, their half-truths, and their politics,

We cannot straggle the fence, by believing there is a God who has revealed His perfect Will in His Holy Scriptures. And at the same time, deny Israel its right to the land God promised to her (Psalm 102:13) .

You see, we are not privy to, nor do we know, when Israel's setting will be changed, in accordance with God's prophetic word. So, put action to your prayer, as a definite promise follows those who pray for Israel (Jerusalem). God blesses those who love and Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. ( Psalms 122:6-7 )

What about the descendants of Abraham, by way of Ishmael, you might ask ? It is perfectly clear, however, that the land was not given to the descendants of Ishmael, namely the Arab people (Genesis 17:18- 19). God did in fact bless the descendants of Ishmael (Genesis 17:20), but the bloodline covenant promise would remain with descendants of Isaac, not Ishmael (Hebrews 11:18) .

Unlike all the media hype, the name of this promise land is not Palestine, but Israel (Ezekiel 37:11-12). This name of Palestine, was a regional name that was imposed on the area by the Roman Emperor, Hadrian, who suppressed the Second Jewish revolt in AD 135. He was so angry with the Jews that he wanted to humiliate them and emphasize that the Jewish nation had lost its right to a homeland under Roman rule. This decision, by Hadrian, effectively declared his pagan authority over Jerusalem, which had been the place of the presence of the God of Israel. To this day, the name Palestine flies in the face of

Israel and the entire issue can be boiled down to a religious (spiritual) battle over a land whose fate will be decided by the God of the Bible, since it is His land (Leviticus 25:23).

So, why all the fuse about dividing the land between the Jews and the Arabs ? God's word is very clear, about this arrangement. Throughout the Old Testament, this promised land always belonged to God's chosen people (Genesis 25:5-6) (Genesis 28:4) (Genesis 36: 6-9) (Deuteronomy 1:8) (Joshua 1:2-4, 6). And the promised also holds true that at the end of days, God himself will intervene and judge all nations according to how they supported God's people (Zechariah 12:1-2,9.
