christ carrying the cross photo: Carrying the Cross photo_05.jpg

On a rugged road he traveled, To a hill called Calvary
With the cross upon His shoulders, That  He bore for you and me
When the cross became too heavy, and He fell beneath the load
There was one who bore it for Him, Up that long and rugged road
There's a cross we all must carry, To be called His very own
There' a cross we all must carry, By His scars we all are known
There's a cross we all must carry,  By His wounds our sins are shown
There's a cross we all must carry,  By His blood He did atone

On a  rugged road he traveled, To a hill called Calvary
Where His loving grace was  given,  Given free for you and me
Just for all the world to see him, When He gave salvations plan
That old redemption story,  The story brought down to man
There's a cross we all must carry, To be called His very own
There' a cross we all must carry, By His scars we all are known
There's a cross we all must carry,  By His wounds our sins are shown
There's a cross we all must carry, By His  blood  He did atone

CHORUS
Because of Calvary- You came down to man
Because of Calvary-You brought salvations plan
Because of Calvary- You took my hand
Because of Calvary- Because of Calvary

ENDING
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it someday for a crown.
And exchange it someday for a crown

OPTION VERSE
On that rugged road he traveled, To a hill called Calvary
Do you hear the Savior calling, Come now and follow me
Come listen to His calling, Will you follow Him  today
Will  you heed His gentle pleading, Do not turn His love away
There's a cross we all must carry, To be called His very own
There' a cross we all must carry, By His scars we all are known
There's a cross we all must carry,  By His wounds our sins are shown
There's a cross we all must carry, By His love  He did atone

In today's world, it seems as if the message of the Cross, has been diluted from some church agendas ( 1 Cor 1:18). Is it that the modern day church has forgotten how to live for God?  I surely trust not. For the only way to overcome Satan's evil aggregation   (Ephesians 6:12)   is by placing our faith in the finished work of the cross (Gal 6:14)

The Apostle Paul, gave the entire  New Testament book of Galatians over to the message of the cross . Paul continued by stating  that if the believer doesn't  live by the message of the cross, then the works of the flesh will take over (Gal 5:19-21).  It is the message of the cross that gave us the full salvation (1Cor 15:1-4).

We could never pay for our sin debt, incurred in the Garden of Eden (Gen 3:1-7), on our own. You see, Christ had to die because of the wages of sin (Rom 6:23). Christ died for us “when we were still without strength” (Rom. 5:6). No man could be justified by the works of the Law   (perfect obedience), (Gal. 2:16), so we needed some outside help! Now, if we take away the message of the cross, how may we get such help ?
