Deuteronomy 22:5 A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.
Deuteronomy 23:1 “He who is emasculated by crushing or mutilation shall not enter the assembly of the Lord.”
The word courage has been tossed around in the media like a free gliding Frisbee when referring to the recent personal acts of Bruce Jenner. His decision to transition into a female, now called Caitlyn appears to be the talk of the Century. The majority of people out there views Bruce's decision to become a man-made woman as courageous to the point of presenting him with an ESPY Award scheduled for next month. The minority of people (myself included) willing to pontificate Biblical insight on this matter is being labeled as judgmental rather than perceived as edified disciples of Christ willing to spread His Word with compassion and love. Ephesians 4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
I find it quite disheartening that this world is so immensely defiled that blatant and willful sin has become the norm among the majority of folks. God meticulously teaches right from wrong in every aspect of living through His inspired Word, and it is our responsibility to pattern our lives after truth instead of being complacent in a constant state of falsehood and sin. It is our duty as children of God to adhere to and share this prophesied truth of our Heavenly Creator. Many worldly events which are presently occurring have been preordained through scripture thousands of years ago, and all who fail to believe in the Gospel of Christ will be subjected to various plagues written therein.
Romans 1:24-32 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.
Speaking the truth to help restore our brethren is not an act of self-righteous judgment, but rather it is a display of love for those who are blinded by the devil's lies; possibly in jeopardy of losing their very souls to eternal damnation. As Christian speakers, it is our duty to teach God's truth to spiritually deprived people who are caught up in their sinful acts in hopes that they will repent and strive to live within the boundary of righteousness. If we ignore the free gift of the Holy Spirit that God blessed us with through the death and resurrection of His Son then we too will be guilty of living an unrepentant lifestyle.
Galatians 6:1 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
James 5:19-20 My brothers and sisters, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring that person back, remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.
The LGBT Community once considered a taboo subject of controversy is now widely accepted in today's society and for that reason alone makes it extremely challenging to speak to or about people who identify as lesbian, bisexual, gay and/or transgender. However, I find it necessary as a Christian to elaborate not only on this subject matter but also all other topics that are in direct opposition to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Some may think of me as judgmental due to my disapproval of the LGBT lifestyle, but it is not my aim to condone their sinful way of living; it is, however, my sole desire to revere our Heavenly Father above and to conform to His commands in my ambition to sustain a faithful life of morality. I will forever believe in the traditional aspects of God's divine creation and in my eyes what God has perfectly designed mere man could never redefine as an acceptable worldly imitation.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
I heard claims that those who are willing participants of the LGBT Community were born that way and therefore are not held accountable for satisfying their lustful homosexual appetites. But, the Bible clearly teaches that even though we all are born with free will, we are called to live by the Will of God. Bruce Jenner is labeled as a person of courage for choosing to live his life as a woman; but I believe true courage would have prevailed had he conquered his unnatural desire by accepting it as his cross to bear. We all have a cross to bear in this life, but God teaches us how to overcome our plights by remaining true to Him in all our ways. Bruce chose to remain true to the person who he yearned to become rather than accepting the person God created him to be. There are none whose cross could ever compare to the literal Cross that Jesus Christ carried so that we could have eternal life with Him.
God created us to be who we are and not who we choose to be by attempting to redesign His creation. God is an infallible Creator of all things above, on and below this earth and we should love and honor Him accordingly. It is interesting at how easily people are willing to respect and abide by man-made laws in fear of some type of legal repercussion but do not think twice about breaking any or all of God's divine laws. It is illegal to blemish property of some sort with a can of sprayed graffiti, but it is perfectly legal to hire a surgeon to reconstruct one's physical appearance from man to woman or vice versa. Again just another example of how effortless it is for some people to violate what God has ordained as sacred completely crushing any semblance of following the direction of His moral compass.
Psalm 139:13-16 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.
The most disturbing part to all of this is watching Bruce misuse a public platform to showcase his transgender appearance rather than using it to help restore values and spiritual morality to a lost generation. There are multitudes of people who look up to Bruce Jenner who may be struggling with a transgender tendency who will take their lead from him thinking it is acceptable to recreate who God designed them to be. I can only imagine how many lost souls will hop aboard a sinking ship trapped in a sea of fallacy and confusion. My heart bleeds for all of those misguided and impressionable young folks who look to Bruce as some type of a hero as they strive to follow in his high heeled footsteps.
It is my hope and prayer that such misguided souls will come to follow Jesus Christ as their true hero who offers salvation for their souls. I hope that they do not accept the word of Bruce Jenner or even my word; but that they willingly open their heart, mind, and soul to the truth about life, death and everything in between through the eternal Word of God. I pray that they look above and within to acquire sincere acceptance of Jesus Christ as their one true savior who forgives all.
1 John 2:1-2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Peace, joy, faith, hope, and love in Christ! Blessings!
