I am not an End Times kind of guy. My attitude is that when it gets here, it gets here and there is little I can do to control its arrival. I have that same approach to the grand questions of Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation and Post- Tribulation Rapture..

While many Americans are praying for that wonderful pre-trib fly-away out of here, tens of thousands of Christians in the Mid-East, who are being butchered in the streets think that they are already in the deep end of the tribulation.

I remember listening to both Walter Martin and Hal Lindsey chew away on that subject way back in the “Late Great Planet Earth” days.. Both were so much more tuned in to it than I ever could be. I came away from those discussions with the thought that it didn’t matter to me how it turned out.

You see, I had spent almost 20 years of my adult life, belonging to a church that taught me that I was the one responsible for what happened to me. It was my obedience and behavior that would bring me into godhood. Nothing had anything to do with when Israel is attacked from all sides, or the color of the moon or the number of earthquakes or strange wailing sounds coming from heaven.

When I became a Born Again Christian, there was a radical change in my personal theology. I was no longer tied to a church and its judgments, but I had entered into a personal relationship with Jesus. You know all the appropriate scriptures Ki should be quoting here, but I want to keep this simple.

What happened when I became a new creature in Christ, was that the old rules no longer applied. I was now one with Him, I was dead to the old man but yet I lived in and through him.. I stepped into a no revocable relationship with the Savior.. solid. Permanent.

The order of things was.. Becoming Born Again., confessing my sins and asking Him to be Lord of my life.. then walking in the new life, in and through Him.. and then doing all going forth ands..

Once that relationship was in place.. going to church, fellowshipping with the believers, caring for the needy.. all those things not only fell in place but became part of the joys of being in fellowship with Him.

So back to the End Times.. I m not denigrating its study or conversation. I follow its path, listening to wonderful teachers like Jan Markell of Understanding The Times, but it is not my focus.

Pre-Trib,Post-Trib, or the very end of the world are surely important, but for this one man, Ed Decker, I am in fellowship with Christ and will still be in fellowship with Him no matter what happens.

If I die in my bed or if I am raptured into the heavens or led out to a pit and beheaded, nothing will ever separate me from Jesus. Nothing will set my path and calling to the side as long as I have breath. My earnest pray has been that it all be delayed so .. even .. just one more.. can find the peace of the cross and be saved from eternal separation from Him.
