All the things in life we try to get
All the goals that we haven’t met
I’m sorry for not meeting your expectations yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Held to a higher standard it’s clear
We get caught up unconsciously in fear
Not quite sure which way to steer
When we have yet to find our appropriate gear

If the end is near, when will it stop
This bubble you’ve built is about to pop
My faith isn’t something that’ll drop
But your view is lacking growth, it has flopped

I’m sorry for not meeting your expectations yet
So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Lingering issues of feelings from the past
Long last the facts of success and contrast
I’ve never ventured into the aura of relapse
Except when it came to the thought of my loves collapse

Such painful addictions catch the unsuspecting
Little do they know that once would turn into many
Our culture caught up in the realm of judging
When not one gavel should hit since they’re not perfecting

These grudges constantly seen are atrocious
People waving their hands around like it’s hocus pocus
Getting their encouragement from the wrong daily doses
I wonder if they’re aware that they’ve been caught in hypnosis

Subliminal messages are now constantly identified
No longer can the secret societies continue to hide
Conspiracy has long been viewed as a negative
When at times it has exposed an actual perspective

So pardon me as I drive off into the sunset

Time to look forward so that we can forget any chance of maintaining regret
