Hey, Jesus...

Hey, Jesus...
My back's against a wall
Did You know that I would fall?

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know a friend would break me
Deceive me and forsake me?
Did You know that he would leave me
and shove me to this crawl?

Hey, Jesus...
My back's against a wall
Did You know that I'd take this fall?

Hey, Jesus...
Can You see me?
My back's against this wall
My heart is broken
Few words spoken
To soothe my wounded soul

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know I would deny You?
Betray You. Crucify You.
Did you know that in my pain
I'd turn my back on You again?
I remember when You set me free
I praised You for them all to see
But I'm here again on bended knee
Did You know I'd take this fall?

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know that when I fell
I touched the edge of hell
And turned to look behind me
And saw Your eyes of fire burn me
The flames of this affliction
Burning, blazing and forgiving?

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know that I would fall?
Cry Your Name
Touch the flame
That burns within my soul

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know I'd feel Your touch?
Your gentle hand
Your patient stand
My Friend, and not my Judge

Hey, Jesus...
Did You know I'd feel Your tender grace
And see the glory on Your face?
That I would finally understand
Your broken body and nail pierced hands!

Hey, Jesus...
Did you know I'd feel my shame
Wash away in Your blood
Again?

Hey, Jesus...
Why do you love someone like me?
Bend to read my poetry?
Who am I that you should love me?
And fill me with Your Holy Glory?

Hey, Jesus...
If you could bring a soul like me
To the ground on my knees
Crying out Your Holy Name
Forgiving me, again. And again.
Wash away all my sin
Then
There is hope for everyone....
