Little Billy told his Dad that in Sunday School they are going to
study all the way from Generations to Revolutions. He may have gotten
the words mixed up, but he probably had the right idea.

This past Sunday was National Bible Day. It was a day to
remember how miraculous it is that the Bible survived all through
the years in spite of challenges to do away with it. It's a library of
66 books with the authors separated by centuries, and yet it
beautifully dovetails as if they all worked together on the project.
To me that indicates proof of a divine hand guiding the writers.

How many Bibles do you have? Probably plenty. Are they used?
A Bible that is falling apart probably belongs to someone who isn't.
I have a number of versions, but only one of each. Nevertheless,
that's a lot more than many people throughout the world are
privileged to have.

In many areas, a Bible is a highly prized possession. The Bible is
so common and easily obtained in America that we treat it rather
carelessly. It bothers me when I see a televangelist grab an open
Bible by one corner and fling it around like it's a stage prop. I
would rather see it treated with respect.

Psalm 110:37 (nlt) would be a good verse for each of us to start our
day -- "Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life
through your word."
