Listen, listen really close. It is the breaking of heart in need. In fact, you are familiar with how this heart beats and even what it beats for. It's your heart. We cry and cry to a God who never seems to take the time to listen to our pain, our worries, our cares. We throw tantrums expecting our cosmic genie to snap His fingers and our life is thrown together while some beautiful hallelujah chorus sings in the background to usher in a sense of comfort. Why doesn't God do that, or if he does, why doesn't he do it everytime for every one of us? What makes him feel so distant during those times when the pain seems to hard to bear? We are told He is ever-loving, and knows exactly what we have been through, but, he doesn't meet our expectations, so we fail to believe he will follow through. God is not here is meet our expectations, he is here to meet our needs, sometimes those two do not connect to one another. God maybe on the sidelines, cheering you on to finish the race, the "background" as some may call it. He may be holding your hand, whether it is from a distance or right next to you so you can feel his breath upon you. God is here, not because I say so, not because Billy Graham or your local pastor says so, but, because God says so. He loves you, he holds you beyond any emotion will ever be able to inform of God's nearness, our problem is we look @ things through human eyes and don't see that God is always there. Ask for spiritual eyes, and than start seeing the ever-present scarred hands of our saviour catching each tear that falls.
