Who Is Beautiful?

You built your high places the head of every road, and made your beauty to be abhorred. You offer yourself to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your acts of harlotry.


Ezekiel 16:25 (NIV)

The most beautiful person is unable to be photograph by any camera or video device. When people defined beauty only by what their eye captures then transmits to the brain, much is lost as others are able to recognize beauty the eye cannot capture. Outward beauty intoxicates the materialist’s eye, but inward beauty seizes the heart when discovered by the beholder.

The comeliness which catches a person’s eye may be deceptive; a pretty body may be a sanctuary for a cold, deformed, revolting heart. External attributes are what nature provides; but internal attributes are the contents one develops. Only a few are blessed with the former, but there is no excuse for anyone not possessing the later. With regards to values, it is a poor product when the container is worth more than the contents on the inside.


Prayer:

Almighty Father, whose voice I hear every day and whose mighty hand gives life to everyone, hear me as I pray. I stand here now before You as one of many made in Your image. Let my eyes see the beauty in every person formed by Your most sacred hands. For they are, Father, Yours as am I. I pray for Your wisdom, strength and courage to never consider myself any better than the many You have created. Help me to fight my greatest enemy—myself. Cleanse my mind, eyes and spirit so that I may treat every brother and sister with dignity, respect and the extraordinary beauty You have granted each. These things I pray. Amen.
