Psalm 91:1–2 - He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Every day, we see bad news of diseases, accidents, natural disasters, or conflicts in television or in newspapers. Many Christians think that these incidents cannot be avoided, it just happens, but that’s not the truth. God knew that these things will take place in this world and that’s the reason, He has promised us protection in His Word from every evil.
If we trust in God and take Him as our refuge, divine protection is guaranteed. No matter what the devil may set the trap on you, it will not affect you because God is your refuge and He promised us protection in Psalm 91. Don’t be afraid of the earthquake, terrorist attack, bomb blasts, or any evil incidents happening in this world because God’s Word says “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
Because you have made God as your refuge and your dwelling place, angels are watching over you right now. The angels are the ministering spirits given to serve you. The angels hear to the voice of God’s Word, so you should give voice to God’s Word. That means, you should agree with and speak what God’s Word says about preservation and protection in order for the angel to function for you.
If you see some bad incidents happening around you, don’t say it can also happen to me instead say “A thousand may fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me (Psalm 91:7.)” I remember few years back at the work place where almost everyone was affected with flu who was sitting around me and the flu was spreading across.
I felt like even I started getting the flu, but I got hold of this scripture (Psalm 91:7) and I used to confess out loud. Psalm 91 was my favourite chapter which I used to confess early morning every day. Very soon, I found myself being normal without any symptom of flu - God’s Word always works. As you acknowledge and believe God is your refuge, you have a divine protection in action.
Many will say that we cannot but expect danger all around, but God says “You are in this world but not of this world. You have My protection because you belong to Me.” As I was meditating this truth, I was just wondering how this protection is related to Jesus on the cross and God spoke to me instantly saying “By the blood of Jesus on the cross, you have access into the secret place of the Most High where no evil can touch you.” You may think what is that secret place? It is God’s presence.
In other words, I can say as, even though there are evil incidents happening around, you are invisible to the evil incidents. I was just amazed with the answer what God gave me instantly. Since the Lord is your refuge and fortress, you don’t need to fear for any evil incidents that are happening in this world.
