I want to live a life
that is CONNECTED to the Living God.

It is life--eternal life
to feel the breath of God
like a breeze on my face,
blowing like a hurricane
through my soul.

I live for those moments
when the greatness of Him
surprises me again,
though I have been gazing at Him
for so very long a time.

He is beautiful,
achingly so,
unendingly so,
infinitely so
Beyond the poverty
of my bankrupt human
vocabulary to define.

I know that in a thousand, thousand years
I am still going to be just bewildered with
fresh revelation of the God of glory.

Father, how You must laugh
when we think we have figured You out,
as though You would fit
in some little box that we have made.

Go ahead and mess us up with Who You really are.
Wreck our theology and our religious pretensions.
Refine us with Your fire and redefine us with Your majesty.
