Samuel and Samantha were brother and sister. They had a dog that they loved very much and her name was Patches. Patches had five puppies and of course Samuel and Samantha wanted to keep all of the puppies. Their parents told them that they could keep two of the puppies but they would have to give the rest away to good homes. They put an ad in the newspaper and waited to see who would call. As they received calls, they invited people to their house so that they could meet everyone and people could see the dogs.

One of the puppies they gave to a young girl that had always wanted a dog and her parents finally said that she could have one. The second one they gave to a little boy that showed an immediate love and caring for the puppy and the puppy followed him everywhere. The third puppy went home with an older man that said that he lived alone and that he wanted a companion.

The first two puppies found very loving homes. The third puppy wasn’t so lucky. His new owner was a man who didn’t know anything about puppies and had no patience for them. When the puppy started going to the bathroom in the house and chewing on shoes and furniture, the man got upset and decided to tie the dog up to a tree outside in his yard. When the puppy was tied up outside, he would constantly bark, and so the man would go outside and yell at and kick the dog.

How do you think Samuel and Samantha would feel if they knew what had happened to their puppy?

What would they want to do?

God saw this also but God knows all.................

What happened next was that this man got very sick and could not get out of bed. A close friend came over and took care of him and the puppy. His friend knew about puppies and trained him, so that the puppy grew out of his bad puppy habits. The puppy ended up staying by his sick master’s bed all the time and licking his master’s hand whenever he put it down to pet his dog. Eventually the man got well and when he did, he asked God’s forgiveness for how he had treated his dog. From that time on the man and his dog were best friends and were always together.
