Reflections on Mary

For one brief moment, I thought I heard the whisper of her voice. But why would she come to me? There are so many others more worthy.

It was as if, I could capture a moment of her soul and then we could feel that moment together. We could share the moment of creation, the moment her son was born.

How proud she must have been. Even as a mother, I can’t even begin to understand. Her Son…how honored she was. I can understand that love.

The Gospel tells us that she said yes to Love, itself and to an un-conditionallove which Jesus would bring to the world. This kind of Love is so powerful, it still shocks the world today. Time cannot limit it as it does us. But apparently we’re afraid of it. Maybe we still don’t really understand it.

Perhaps we haven’t learned how to harness this energy. It’s sort of like the Ark
of The Covenant, if you watched Raiders. Remember all the energy?

When I think of her, I wonder if she was afraid. Not of her world and what they
would think but of the responsibility. It must be tough to be the Mother of God.

Sometimes I go to Church and light a candle to her. Not for a special favor but to
honor her.

Jesus directed us to go to his Mother. That’s good enough for me. If He is my brother, then she is my mother. That’s all I have to know Granted,he is my Savior but she is still his Mother. So many times we need her peace and
encouragement. How silly not to go to her. Light that candle today!
