We all should press on to know more, so our work for the Lord can prosper more and be more effective - but, what a shame it is when a person who has an opportunity to gain more wisdom, refuses to receive it, simply because he has respect of persons, as to who he gets it from. Refusing to receive wisdom from others because of whatever reason you may have, can possibly prevent and even prolong the process of "getting from here to there."

It should not matter where wisdom comes from, if wisdom can better equip you, or help you to be more effective in your work, and even take you to the next level. We all need somebody to help us along the way - to show us the way to go, and how things should appropriately be done.

Keep in mind, God can use anybody He pleases as His hands, feet and mouth to be a blessing to others, in whatever way is best for the individual. So, the first step in obtaining more wisdom, is being humbled enough to receive it from anybody, who wants to share it.

If there are people in your life who are willing to share what they know to help you, push pride and your selfish reasons aside and let them. If a co-worker on your job or a fellow servant in ministry wants to help you, let them - if the mother in the church wants to help you, let her - if mom or dad wants to share what they've learned on their journey of life, let them. You may not see it now, but in the latter, you will look back and realize it was the hand of God using people in your life, to guide you to the place pre-destined for you.

“And he (Apollos) began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:26)
