Jesus Knows When!

About 12 years ago I thought I wanted to try and quit smoking.
I thought....so my brother had told me and my husband about
a group of people who come from St. Louis Mo. to do what they call
the zap system to help you quit. Well it cost a lot of money
which I didn't have at the time so that was my good excuse to
say well I will have to wait till I have the money. Good Excuse!

Well a couple of years went by and my sister had come to me
and my brothers and wanted us to start recording the gospel
songs she had been writing and saving for several years in
a folder. The Good Lord told her it was time to get them recorded
so that they may Bless someone else. So she asked us to go and
put them together and to start singing in churches and places the
Lord might send us. Well He did....He did send us to several churches
and the State Fair and a few Gospel sings around the area. We
really enjoyed and had Blessed a lot of people....but I just was not
happy with the fact that I would go and sing these beautiful gospel
songs with the great messages the Good Lord had given and I would
run out as soon as it was over and grab that cigarette. My oh my...
what kind of testimony was that....how could I ever help anyone come
to know Jesus if I was doing that. I couldn't and I know the Good Lord
was convicting me of this. So I started Praying for His help....to help
me quit smoking so that I could sing and minister for Him.

Well a few more weeks went by and we were still singing and going
into these places and I was still smoking and feeling worse and worse
about this but I knew that the Lord had a plan and He was not going to
leave me. So I continued to pray and had went out to my back porch
to smoke that day and I asked God....please help me Lord to stop
doing this. I cannot smoke and continue to sing for Him....it just was not
right and I can not do it. So in the mist of my praying I lit a cigarette and was
smoking and praying....asking please help me....I cannot quit on my own.
I need you to give me the strength and the means to do this. Please
Father God....help me now.

Well still puffing away the phone rang and I ran inside to get it. Lo and
behold it was the Zap People calling from St. Louis to inform me that
they would be coming soon to Keokuk to help people quit smoking and
if I would be interested in doing this.....wow yes I said....how much for
this treatment. They told me and I had the money for me and my husband
both to go. Praise God....we went and we both quit smoking with the Lords
strength. You see God knows when you are ready. He prepares us to
do what He has for us. He gave me the means to pay for this at
the same time and I Thank Him every day for this.

God took the desire out me and gave me the strength to quit and the means.
I was then able to sing and minister for Him and to help others with this
testimony of what He done for me. Even in the middle of my sin....He answered
my Prayer....God Knows When.....Thank you Sweet Jesus!!!
