Marriage

After Miranda tossed the bouquet to Trevor's mother, Henrietta, she and Trevor got into a cab and headed off to LAX. "I'm so excited for your parents, Trevor," Miranda said. "Who would have thought? Many people do not get back together after they divorce."

"I didn't think they would get back together," Trevor said. "They were constantly fighting during the last few years of their marriage. I could have sworn they hated each other. I hated to see them fight. I'd go in my room and listen to my headphones." Miranda scooted closer to Trevor, took his hand, and leaned her head on his shoulder. Trevor leaned his head back on the seat. "But the thing is, I don't think they ever fell out of love. When I saw them and talked to them, they seemed miserable without each other."

"I know what you mean," Miranda said. "They never seemed to be people who would truly fall out of love with each other. When you look at the two of them, you just know God made them for each other."

"Just like He made us for each other," Trevor said, kissing Miranda's lips. He then kissed her nose, her forehead, and cheeks.

The flight to Rome went smoothly. Trevor and Miranda checked into one of the most luxurious hotels in Rome. There was a spa, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a gym, and hotel suites that reminded them of apartments. They ordered room service and got a large plate of spaghetti and meatballs to share. Trevor had thought it would be fun to share spaghetti and meatballs so they could share a noodle and kiss the way they had seen it done in LADY AND THE TRAMP. Miranda agreed that it was a great idea, so they did that. After that, they talked, read their Bibles, and went to bed.

When the morning sunlight first hit their room, Trevor and Miranda were still asleep. Trevor was breathing heavily, sometimes snoring softly, his arms around Miranda and her arms around him and her head leaning against his chest. A few minutes later the couple woke up and kissed each other good morning.

"Oh, Miranda," Trevor sighed, "I can't believe I tried to avoid this when I was scared to fall in love and get married because of my parents' divorce. Just having you in my life here with me, close enough to be in my arms, is a blessing like no other."

Miranda nodded and held him a little tighter. "Mmm-hmm. God knew what He was doing when He had us meet as children. I remember when we were really good friends, and now we're best friends and husband and wife. I wouldn't have it any other way."
