This is the greatest time in church history ever , the time approaching the return of Jesus Christ . A simple , longer study of both the OT and NT shows us that glorious things will take place as an end time harvest hits the world . It is our honor to be alive now to participate in it . Sounds good ? Or NOT ?. Well it helps to be honest with ourselves . If you like me are not running excitedly round the room maybe somethings wrong .
I have gone through hard and traumatic times in recent years . At work , at church , in family life and society . These things do not cause visible sores and injuries but emotional and to a degree psychological . These two areas ( thoughts and feelings ) belong to what we call the soul ( as distinct from a persons human spirit ) . Psalm 23 says that the Lord RESTORES MY SOUL . That’s comforting . Looking at anything negative that you haven’t talked over with the Lord is a positive help . Top of my list was disappointments . Some of the causes of these were because I placed expectations on people instead of God . When they couldn`t measure up I became disappointed . Un forgiveness . God gives the power and grace to forgive as long as we are willing to DECIDE to forgive . Weed that out ! Bad attitudes against particular people . If you don`t know why ask God and he will help you . The Lord is your Shepherd to restore your soul .
Recently I have met Christians who had gone through divorce . Divorce can result in all manner of feelings coming to the surface leaving some people wrecked . But with Jesus nothing is impossible and he does not judge .
The sooner we see that life is a battleground , that we haven`t always been on the crest of Gods wave we have a better chance to live in reality . Whatever might be holding you down , be willing to let it go . Work with Gods help by his Spirit and his Word because participating in the coming revival will be worth it . My response two weeks ago was , “ Big coming revival . Big deal . I don`t care ! “ . But I asked God why that was my negative-attitude response . The answer was simply “ you can`t jump for joy when you are emotionally weighed down from the past . But I can restore your soul ! “
Asking God to fill you afresh with the Holy Spirit will fill all places now vacated by your uprooted weeds . Then plant promises about you from Gods Word . When you have done all that you will see that you have experienced a personal , private revival that will give you something to shout about . Be Blessed !
