What Is Truth?
John 2:37
John 2:38

37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.

Jesus was a man who believed in truth. He was born into it, lived it and finally died in it. He offers this truth to us. What is Truth? Pilate asked this in ignorance and in a sense of distaste and not in the true desire to know what it was. We can act as Pilate did when we question Jesus, as to his motives and his morals and when we treat truth as not being that important. We don’t do this? Yeah, right. We do it all the time, for instance when other material things are more important to us, when we doubt his word and when we just plain don’t listen.

What is Truth? And how can we bear witness to it? God is Truth. His love is truth. And we can bear witness to it, just as Jesus did by loving God and living everyday in his truth. In this way we are like Jesus. We are born ALSO to bear witness to the truth and other people who are like us and searching for it, will hear its voice. We will find each other, in every generation.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus said it very simply. He is the way and we should follow him. He said to us “I tell you the truth.” We should listen. If we want to be in the presence of the Father, we have to go through Jesus. Jesus is the Life. Our lives should be an example of his.

No other man has reached these heights. We need to follow him to glory. Glory resides in the Father. Jesus said what he can do, we can do. We should believe him.
Jesus gave us so many words of truth such as:

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Jesus is the truth and he does set us free, from the world, from fear and anxiety, from everything that binds us in the chains of darkness.

Easton’s Bible Dictionary: Truth

Truth Used in various senses in Scripture. In Prov. 12:17, 19, it
denotes that which is opposed to falsehood. In Isa. 59:14, 15,
Jer. 7:28, it means fidelity or truthfulness. The doctrine of
Christ is called "the truth of the gospel" (Gal. 2:5), "the
truth" (2 Tim. 3:7; 4:4). Our Lord says of himself, "I am the
way, and the truth" (John 14:6).
