WAS JESUS A LOUSY EVANGELIST?

Where in the gospels does it talk about Jesus converting three thousand people in a day – like Peter?

Or which gospel tells about Christ converting five thousand people at one time?

The Savior fed well over five thousand people in a day, but He never converted that many – not even close.

Jesus continually preached to multitudes of followers, but His conversion rate was pretty low.

In fact, after over three years of ministry, the Master only had one hundred and twenty committed followers – that all.

That’s an average of about forty people a year – nothing extraordinary there, considering all the miracles.

But, those one hundred and twenty followers were ready to die for Christ – literally.

With them and their commitment, God completely changed the course of world history.

Maybe Jesus wasn’t such a poor evangelist after all, maybe He was just looking at a bigger picture.

Perhaps Christ was concentrating on making disciples, and letting them go out and evangelize.
