Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
(Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV)

As we look at the word heart above we see that it means the feelings, the intellect, and the center of everything, your very core being and soul. All that we do and are is to trust in the Lord, no matter what.
Self righteousness, abilities, crutches, excuses, ignorance, personality types and all else that people need and try to use as or for excuses – God will not accept on Judgment day nor will He accept it now and thus is the reason so many people are not blessed as they should be, wish to be or desire to be.

Simply put, people are in their own way of a blessing!

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
(Philippians 4:6 KJV)

As we see here the word careful means to be anxious, or take thought of certain, defined or many things.
People live from the tick to the tock of the second hand on a clock. Each time it is heard, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick.
it is as if they are tied to every beat and have so conditioned their selves to their clock and never have yet taken the time to acknowledge God. Sure they speak it, they quote it, they repeat it, the look at it and yet it never seems to find its way inside. A need arises and they first turn to self, turn to others, get angry, get frantic, they at times avoid the very one who loves them most and all because their personal best meter kicks in and leaves all else in the cold so to speak.
How does God view this, how does He deal with the hurt and pain? He can be grieved; He can have his hands tied so to speak.
Any time in any situation that we look to self more than to God, even though people say they trust the Lord in their mouth, their actions are quite contrary. Once a person begins to trust self and mix the words of scripoture with it, before long they are actually serving “another Jesus”.
For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
(2 Corinthians 11:4 KJV)

When self gets so intertwined in the Word in the way of speaking but not doing the person is lost in error;
When the Word becomes intertwined in self, the person gets lost in it and God takes over.
Give all your issues to Jesus and even to the smallest bill to be paid, the sickness, the need, the grief, the pain, and be silent in the act of words that hurt, cut, harm, and hinder.
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
(Romans 1:29-32 KJV)

God expects you to follow His commands, not mix yours. He died for you, not you for Him.
Look at yourself deeply and look at the words and actions that rule you in a day. What drives you, what makes you hide?
Do you stop praying and excuse it because of a vacation time in your or someone else’s life, do you decline spiritually when others are around?
Truly, are you so hampered and ashamed of the Lord that any excuse will do?
Mark 8:38; Luke 9:26 should be read carefully as well as all other scripture used here today….

Excellent read Blaine. Also a good reminder that God is our help and we should look to Him for guidance and not trust our own judgment.
