Dear Mother,
Friend so close to my soul.
I praise the God of Heaven,
For your warmth when days were cold.

If before the Lord gave me to you,
He had given me the chance to choose the perfect mother.
I’d reach my hands out for you,
Because I could not imagine belonging to another.

For teardrops have fallen,
And pain has entered my heart.
But you were there to dry every tear,
Because you loved me from the start.

Thank you for your tender love,
For all the joy and the laughter.
For every hug and every kiss,
For that I’ll love you ever after.
