2 Oh, dear children of mine (forgive the affection of an old man!), have you realized it? Here and now we are God’s children. We don’t know what we shall become in the future. We only know that, if reality were to break through, we should reflect his likeness, for we should see him as he really is!

I’ve been thinking about this the past several weeks…it’s very interesting. It makes me think of:
1 John 4:17Amplified Bible (AMP)

17 In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world.

and:
1 Corinthians 13:12New American Standard Bible (NASB)

12 For now we see in a mirror [a]dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

I think one of the issue we don’t know who we are is because we don’t know who He is. Once our view of Him is clarified (many ways to do that) then our own selves gets transformed and conformed to the image of God and His Son, Jesus.

22-23 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If all the light you have is darkness, it is dark indeed!”

What are we seeing and how are we seeing?
2 Corinthians 5:16Amplified Bible (AMP)

16 Consequently, from now on we estimate and regard no one from a [purely] human point of view [in terms of natural standards of value]. [No] even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint and as a man, yet now [we have such knowledge of Him that] we know Him no longer [in terms of the flesh].

Our growth can be subject to how much of Jesus we see. Jesus said if you seen Him you’ve seen the Father. The foundation for seeing Him is laid out in scripture but was never a substitute for continuing to see if not according to the flesh. The veil was torn not just for man being able to enter into God’s presence but also for God Presence being able to enter man. The veil was torn to give God access to Humanity and Humanity is forever linked to God in Jesus Christ. We are now partakers of the Divine Nature. We need to see Him as He is, currently, because we are like that in this world currently.
