Weeping Willow
Waking up from a dream
I remember so vivid in my mind,
walking in the wilderness,
I had lost all sense of time.
As I glanced around
all that I could see,
standing in an open field,
was a weeping willow tree.
This tree was breathtaking,
the branches very long,
I knew within my spirit,
there was something wrong.
Portrayed beautifully on the outside
for everyone to see,
the inside slowly died of thirst,
no rivers flowed into this tree.
I stood for what seemed like hours,
thinking God wanted me to know,
this tree represented His Spirit
when the rivers do not flow.
For on the outside, we may fool many
as we smile and never frown,
while the inside dies of thirst,
because God's Word cannot be found.
However, I wondered and asked God, “Why a weeping tree?”
He answered, “My child, you have withheld many tears that only I can see.”
