Grief

The time is coming. He is now 15. I know that according to His word, we are not to be anxious about anything, but I will tell you the truth. I am. I KNOW that I know that I know that God is in control. And I know I cannot hide him in a shelter and never let him out. But the thought of him starting to drive is a thought that I simply struggle to even process. I can say I have been dreading this for quite some time. Like one of those thoughts that you start to let into your mind, but quickly and purposefully dismiss. That is what happens when I start to think about Brennan driving. And he has told me for quite some time....mom....I am not Kalin. You have to let me do this. I promise I will be careful. Oh......I know Brennan. I know. But sometimes it's not you. Sometimes it's not you. Prayers. Lots and lots of prayers. There is an invisible cord that I have tied around him to keep him safe and it is attached to me, but I know that it is almost time to unbind it and let him free. Lord, I pray for the strength to do this as I know we are not to live in fear but in the knowledge that you are in control of each and every situation. So my prayers continue and bit by bit I will loosen the knot. Father, I ask for protection over my children. You know the struggle this is for me. Please give me the strength and courage to continue to loosen the knot. In your precious name I pray, amen.

Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
