BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED
“And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art FAVORED HIGHLY, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women” Luke 1:28. [O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you! Blessed (favored of God) are you before all other women! - AMP]

The children of God are greatly blessed, highly favored and deeply loved by God. They are not just blessed but also fused with great grace for Kingdom living and kingdom exploits [Judges 5:24, 6:12]. The Lord’s Presence is always with them invoking goodness and great mercy to them. Such saints of God are ordained and chosen by God to come into sonship just like their Lord Jesus Christ. The one favored is shown kindness and treated much better than we could expect from God and men; the degree of this blessedness is contingent on how much more we strive to please the Lord and it must not be looked as material or worldly terms.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be HOLY and BLAMELESS before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us ACCEPTED in the beloved” Ephesians 1:3-6 [emphasis mine’s]

The word “accepted” in the above scripture [Eph. 1:6] means “charito” in Greek which is the English word ‘’to be highly favored, endued with special honor and grace”. It is not coincidence that wherever you see a favored man, he will have the testimony that he is blessed and the Lord God is with him [divine presence and companionship]. He is infused with divine competence and graced to do exploit. Such have holiness lifestyle and blameless in the sight of God and men.

Favor connotes an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual and to be imparted with special honor; when a person is favored, things work to their advantage. When conditions are favorable or characterized by act of kindness, they result in good outcome and positive results. And when a person becomes a favorite of the Almighty God, such a person becomes preferred above all others of the same kind like Daniel and the three Hebrew boys. Such are full of grace and receives God’s benefits [Psalm 68:19; Psalm 103:1-5]
Quite often a person who is highly favored of God can experience blessing that appear too good to be true and very much like a dream [Psalm 126:1]! We must be positioned to walk and operate under the covering of God’s uncommon blessings.
“It seemed like a dream, too good to be true, when GOD returned Zion's exiles. We laughed, we sang, we couldn't believe our good fortune. We were the talk of the nations-- "GOD was wonderful to them!" GOD was wonderful to us; we are one happy people” Psalm 126:1-3 MSSG

May we be positioned to walk and operate under the covering of God’s uncommon blessings! Favor opens doors that would have otherwise been shut. It also results in great promotion, and preferential (positive) treatment with its attendant benefits. Joseph was prosperous even in prison and in a foreign land because of God’s favor; Esther was favored and it resulted in a royal crown being put upon her head (Genesis 39:2-6, 20-23; Esther 2:17)
Favor increases or grows in certain atmospheres and with certain relationships. God will supernaturally link you up with people that will be the ladder that you will climb to your place of eminence and great success! Divine favor certainly grows with obedience to God and then God causes people in authority to bestow goodness and mercy upon you. Favor increases with excellence. It can also diminish when a person is disloyal, disobedient, or with the wrong company of people; when a person falls out of favor, they can be likened to a person dwelling in a dry land; Samson is one such pitiful example (Psalm 68:6, Dan 5:12, Acts 2:46-47)
However, Gods children DO NOT have to do the wrong things in order to try and obtain the undue favor from people or organizations (Esther 1:12, 19; Prov. 3:3-4). Such act closes the doors of God’s store house to them.

JOB AS A CASE STUDY OF ONE HIGHLY FAVORED

“Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me” Job 29:2-11

When a man is blessed and highly favored, he will cause the widow's heart to sing for joy, will be feet to the lame, he will be a father to the poor [James 1:27]. He will be graced with power to break the fangs of the wicked and actually pluck the victim from the enemy's teeth? He will awake every morning and receive wisdom, godly advice and strategy, formulas and solutions, and revelation into key areas and solve problems. He will receive answers to mysteries that confound the world. He will become a sought after like Daniel.

JOB’S LIFESTYLE [CHRISTLIKE CHARACTER]

“I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth” Job 29:12-17

We must be cognizant of the fact that every man or woman ever blessed and empowered by God in the bible like Abraham, David, Joseph, Esther or Mary had testimonies of right living, godliness and walking in the Spirit. Holiness will be their spiritual house, they will live according to the ordinances of God and they will be led by the Holy Ghost in all their endeavors.

“You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said." Luke 1:45 NLT
These men were blessed also because they trusted in the precious promise of God despite the odds of life for there will be a performance of the blessings promised them by God. Blessed are those who do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor seat in the seat of the scornful [Ps. 1:1-3]
It has been said that “A day of favor is greater than many days of labor”. Similarly, favor can restore in a day what the enemy stole in a lifetime.

The Lord bless you and watch, guard, and keep you; The Lord make His face to shine upon and enlighten you and be gracious (kind, merciful, and giving favor) to you; The Lord lift up His [approving] countenance upon you and give you peace (tranquility of heart and life continually)” Numbers 6:24-26 AMP

FAVORS CAN BE OBTAINED BY

1. King Praying unto the Lord [Job 33:26]
2. Keeping God’s commandments [Prov. 3:1-4]
3. Seeking and finding God’s wisdom [Prov. 8:35]
4. Diligently seeking good [Prov. 11:27; 12:2]
5. Living righteous [Prov. 14:9]

BENEFITS OF BEING FAVORED BY GOD

1. Our requests are more likely to be granted [Est. 7:3]
2. Imparted with God kind of Life [Psalm 30:5]
3. Our enemies shall not triumph over us [Psalm 41:11]
4. God will show mercy to the favored [Psalm 119:58]
5. Grow in favor with God and with men [1 Sam. 2:26; Luke 2:52]
