THE FIVE SENSES
(The Battlefield of Spiritual Warfare)
SIGHT ... HEARING ... SMELL ... TASTE ... TOUCH
First the sense of sight … Where your eyes linger
If you feel no fright … You need to re-consider
Cause if it’s looking good … Or if it’s looking fine
And you know that you should … Know that it is slime
It’s time to look away … And recognize the fight
Before your mind is swayed … As you turn out the light

And then it’s what you hear … Assaults the sides of your head
At times so hard to bear … You wish that you were dead
How to drown them out … The sounds that come in waves
You cry out with a shout … But the noise won’t go away

Now it’s up your nose … A really pleasant scent
It came very close … But you wonder what it meant
You shake your head in confusion … At what will happen next
Is this the final conclusion … Or will you always be this vexed
And now it’s sweet as honey … This stuff that you taste
As you reach for more money … Letting nothing go to waste
This sweetness that you’re eating … Is called food that is rich
But now your heart is beating … Much faster than it should

So as you now search for comfort … For something that is soft
You will even run for it … To have this sense of touch
This battle you won’t win … All by yourself
It’s the Spirit that’s within … That’s your only help

It’s free for the asking … No body’s going to push
As a fish grabs the casting … Reach the burning Bush
Don’t be left behind … The fight will be much worse
Escape the terrible grind … As the Earth … Is freed from the curse
