BRAIN DEAD OR THINKER
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth!
We need to stop and ponder on this thought for a minute: As much as we can with this biddly little ten percent usage of our brain. How absolutely awesome is our Almighty God. To begin with he has no beginning and no ending. He has simply always been and always will be. That alone is beyond our comprehension.
A light-year being the distance of 186,000 times the number of seconds in one year, with billions of stars, galaxies and planets, several light-years distant from one another and okay! God said “Bang” and there appeared the universe! Actually I don’t believe he said bang. More than likely it was simply “Let there be!” Then gathers up a hand full of dust, breathed on it and there was a man in his own likeness. Are we beginning to get some idea of just what we are dealing with here? And he says to us “To believe that I exist, just look around!” So we did and came up with the idea that there was simply a Big Bang of some kind with no explanation of where the stuff came from that went Bang and out of that explosion we somehow came into being from a bunch of slimy stuff that just formed itself over a few billion years into some kind of fish and finally into a man! …. Give me a break! Do you expect me to believe that I came from nothing, live for a few short years and then die and cease to exist as if I had never been? With a brain that has the ability to even wonder about such a thing? And to think that there are millions of people who actually believe this is beyond my comprehension.
Or maybe I’m just a thimble full of energy that dies and become a drop in some kind of massive energy field of intelligent what? Or maybe I die and become a bug? Unbelievable!
My questions are WHY? Why am I here? Is there a reason? Is there a purpose? Do I need to be here? What am I supposed to do? I get cut, I bleed. I fall down I bruise. I get sad, I cry. I hear something I think is funny, I laugh. I think, I wonder about things. I have the ability to just ask myself these questions. Who has the answers? The best science can come up with is Bang? Bang from what? Where did the stuff come from that go Bang?
Does every single living human being ask themselves these questions? Or because there are no apparent answers, has most people’s minds just shut off and don’t think at all? This thing called sin is what causes people to be concerned with only themselves. What they need to do, or have, to be happy and excited about being alive, until they die. And not even think or wonder about what happens next. Out of the seven some odd billion people on this planet earth, only a handful think about these things? Only a few bother to search for truth?
How is it that any man could have answers to these questions that would be any truer than any other man’s answer? Where does an “educated” man get his answers? From some other man! So now the question is “Who has the answers?” It seems to me that it would make more sense to look around and believe that there must be some kind of intelligence that created all this. So now the question is how do we get the answers? Read a book? Books are written by men (excuse me! and women). Except! There is one book that claims to have been written by God himself. But since he is a Spirit with no body, he selected a few men, inspired them with his Spirit and used their fingers. And here we are again with something beyond our comprehension. Now we have reached a point where a person simply has to choose what to believe that makes the better sense.
The book that claims to be written by God himself is the Bible! And it is here that we find the answers to all our questions. Seek and you will find is what it says, so pick up the book and start reading, if you are one of the few who even bothers to ask yourself the questions, and therein you will find the answers.
To believe that there is coming a time when we will have one hundred percent usage of our brains is exciting to me. Star Trek could become a reality but I believe without Mr. Spock! And I question the existence of creatures on other worlds, but then there I go thinking again! Think about what we have done in this good Ole US of A in just a short couple of hundred years with only ten percent of our brain power! What could we accomplish in one thousand years with one hundred percent of our brain power? And that’s just the period of time called the millennium for those who remain physical. A life even more wondrous than that awaits those who are called born again believers.
So there you have it! Read the book … Believe that God cannot lie, which means every word is the truth, whether you understand it or not. I suggest starting with the book of John, the fourth book of the New Testament. Believe it! and join the believers in what is called a heavenly existence, and if you’re paying any attention at all to what is happening in the world around you … You’re running out of time!
