Absent is only the string, not the mask
We must hold facade in its place
Accompanying obscurity as is its nature to do
How this does drain me of strength
Yet how long can I welcome disguise before I may become it?
Rather would I disapprove to wander than to be of it?
Its expression reminisces with the aroma of a masquerade
Yet where is the meaning of I in this expressionless face?
Among those who would present me as distinct?
They all seem to realize a sole intention
To deny me my breath it would seem

Tangential speech and hands that do not touch
Vanish with the volatility of a sentiment
And never a person sees the other
Neither do we recognize egocentricity and its seed vanity
Together is a word we use to define what we want
And the other is a person we use only to fulfill it
The implicit is the real here in all its ambiguity
Without restrain or regret
What governs the outcome of such relations?
Is not the oneness of the intra-personal all that stands in the absence of unity?
We choose the solace and confusion of our own mind while still utterly condemning loneliness
It is the want of others for only the improvement of ourselves that leaves us alone
Still, empathy seems the furthest of all our reaches and the last of our self requests
Can it be understanding we lack or the aversion to its clarity we loathe?
Knowledge rarely provides us our desires when giving us the answers
Is it where we seek the answer that makes the difference?
Human knowledge does not appear to be in the care of wisdom

So will forever I be lost?
Can this wretched enabler become the expression of glorified?
So talk I will
Scream I will again
Listen with intent ears I do
And still unattained release remains my evident circumstance
I cannot do this alone
I can no longer stand on my own and call it strength that holds me up
I must defer life to another
And in doing so begin to live for others
In return to possess all capability to love another without gain for myself
In what lies the difference between I and Identity?
I find it is only you that is the distinction

So caress me never-ending breeze
Leave me your mark and I need ask no more of you
You have grazed me with your gentle breath
And breathe without pause is now my stipulation
For this little boy has been made a man
And he desires no more than to be your child

The seal upon my forehead is engraved with your name
And I have arisen, as you did, to the sound of your Spirit
The mystery that is incentive for the wind I now unmistakably feel
So kiss me toward ascending
And I will rise to breathe you forever more
